Waiting in line.
I know I've been off coffee for awhile (almost 9months I think!). And NO, it's not because I'm pregnant in case you were wondering. :p It was purely because I had developed a dependence on caffeine and I wasn't able to function normally without it (I use the word "normal" loosely). The feeling that I "wanted" and/or "needed" it was enough for me to put an end to the addiction.
Anyway, I no longer "need" nor do I "crave" it, but I do enjoy the taste, so I've now allowed myself the occasional after dinner espresso and the social cup of coffee. As I waited in line to place my order and waited some more at the other end of the bar for my coffee, I realized that the only patient lineup is at the coffee shop. There seems to be a sense of comradery amongst fellow caffeine addicts that the line is almost a pleasant wait. I suppose the euphoria that awaits you when the black nectar hits your bloodstream is enough to compensate for the ridiculous wait.
I digress.
Gone are the days that I wait in line to get into a club....Nowadays, the only club I wait for is the occasional club sandwich at the local pub.
:) I'm a geezer...I know.
