Maybe it was me.

I received a call from a lady with a very very strong Chinese accent just the other evening and below is a transcribed snippet of the conversation we had (She spoke really loud too! My poor ears!)
--------
Her: "Hi, dis is da insurance company calling, is Elizabeef dere?"
Me: "This is Elizabeth."
Her: "Dis is da insurance company calling."
Me: "Which company are you calling from?"
Her: [She SPELLS IT OUT FOR ME, LITERALLY! Me thinks she was unable to pronounce the name or she thought I wouldn't know the company name even if she said it cuz it was in French.]
Me: [I interrupted her spelling and said the company name midway.]
Her: "Yeah yeah yeah, dis is the insurance company calling."
Me: "Ok, what is this regarding?"
Her: "You work now."
Me: "No, I'm at home."
Her: "You work now."
Me: "No, I just got home from work."
Her: [I believe she was dumbing down her language for me, yet again.] "You work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday?"
Me: "I work from Monday to Friday, yes, I work."
Her: "O-K, so you work now."
[At this point of the conversation, I don't know whether I thought it was funny that she can't understand me or that I was annoyed at her for making me feel stupid or annoyed at her in general.]
Me: "I will have to call you back, this isn't a very good time for me."
Her: "O-k" [she leaves her number and name]

I'm not sure about you, but I'm not really comfortable with an insurance broker who can't communicate with me. =p
