Consider this: Are you happier with a little bit of extra money in your pocket to buy something irelevant with or are you happier giving it to someone who needs it? Personally, if I think the person will make good use of it, and by good I mean they will use it in healthy and constructive ways, then I definitely choose the latter. In my own little selfish way, I find happiness in doing something good.
